Hi! I am somewhat new round here and I have some questions about adding TNT to my GrandL3940.
Now for some background.
I have searched and read a great number of threads but I'm not clear about whether I need power beyond (BYD) on a control valve (CV).
This past year I had my dealer add a BH90 backhoe, so I have hydraulic connections at the back of the tractor used to power the backhoe when installed and looped together when the backhoe is removed. (2 connections - pressure and return goes to the 3PH)
What I want to do is install a "3 SPOOL 24 GPM NIMCO OC W/PWR BYD VALVE W/JOYSTICK" or similar to control a TNT and leave me with an extra valve for future use. I would like to insert the CV in the existing hydraulic loop. The idea being that I would install the TNT and connect the valve into the loop when the backhoe is removed and remove it when the backhoe is installed.
My questions:
The NIMCO CV shows three ports IN, BYD, and Tank in addition to the work ports, I only wish to use 2 non-work port connections to the valve IN and ? Will the CV work with the tank port plugged or the BYD port plugged? If so, which do I plug? If neither the BYD or Tank ports can be plugged can they be teed together? I do not wish to add a third hose to CV that has to be disconnected when the BH is installed.
In this instance is there a need for the CV to have BYD? The 3PH is the only thing downstream. Maybe I need a different CV?
Also, I read something about the danger of a CV痴 output seeing pressure caused by a downstream CV. I assume that this is only a problem when a work port is open so that would mean in this scenario that I should not use the TNT and the 3PH at the same time? Or am I out in left field?
Plus any additional wisdom you wish to impart.
Thanks for the help in advance.
