115 degree heat index in eastern VA today. Swimming pools are even too warm to dive into! Like swimming in a hot bath.
Had four days in a row that topped 90*, (highest was 94*) July 4th -8th. Since then our highs have been around the mid-80's. This week the highs are to be upper 70's to low 80's. Low of 51* forecast for Monday night - I am looking forward that. We may not see 90* again this year.
It's been several years since we had a stretch of warm weather like this. My garden doesn't even know it's in Maine
It's 82* and a little humid at noon.
Dave.
It's so hot the squirrels were seen icing down their nuts.
There is the rub.
I was born up in Limestone.
I'll take this weather in the south in the summer not to have the snow you get in the winter![]()
here is an interesting perspective...
We left Myrtle beach today about noon-- 98 degrees.. hit Columbia SC 102 hit Spartanburg--104... got to the bottom of Saluda Grade--- 102 got to the top of Saluda grade-- slight bit o rain--- 78... (elevation change on Saluda grade is about 1000 feet from top to bottom... (1109 at Columbus NC, and 2079 at Saluda, NC)
In a few places we saw the truck temp readout bounce up to 110... now this is thermometer temp..
I am sure the heat index was at least 5 to 10 degrees hotter in most cases......

Does that mean you're back home?
