Not as good but still what I thought was fair

It is great to have a deal finalized, and one you are happy with. I think you will be happy with the Kioti. I am always frustrated with making deals, playing the game, etc. From what I read, you were right to be frustrated, you were ok to decline the Mahindra deal, you were right to hold original Kioti dealer to the quote, you were right to go elsewhere, you were due the repsonse from Kioti Big. Enjoy your tractor.

Now, you may want to start a new thread for this, but please explain "TurtleRiverWhitetails" and how will the new Kioti play into TRW?

One more update.

The National Manager for Canada Kioti called me this morning. He asked me to tell him what had happened with my bad experience so I did. After he evaluated my facts he told me the first dealership would be in contact with me and would be selling me the tractor at the agreed upon price.

Well as I had posted earlier I had already purchased a Kioti tractor from a different dealership on Saturday so I told him about that deal.

My faith in humanity is restored! Kioti was willing to make the first salesman honor his quote and I think that is what should have happened all along. I told the National Manager I had purchased a different Kioti from a different dealer and that made him very happy. He is going to let the first dealer know what transpired so I have a feeling that salesman is going to get some demerits at minimum.

I was never out to get revenge or be nasty I just wanted to buy the tractor at the quoted price. Once I did some more research and found the second dealer and he stuck to his quoted price I bought his tractor.

First I am glad you got a Kioti  at a price you feel comfortable with. Second I am very pleased that the National Manager for Canada took responsibility and action to make sure you were going to be looked after properly. Sounds like it has all worked out for the best, except, as you mentioned, for the
original salesman.  :(:ashamed: :confused2:

Just do a google search for it. The tractor will be used for many, many, different types of work. I have 8,000 Saskatoon trees plus a quarter (160 acres) of land to look after along with doing some work cleaning up trails for my other business.

I wish the first Kioti thing would have never happened but it did and I am over it. The National Manager tried his best and it was very satisfying to know that they really do care about the little guys. I have learned some valuable lessons from all of this and I do not wish bad on the salesman either. Maybe he will learn about being greedy and change his ways. Like always it turned out for the best in the end.

I'm impressed that Kioti would follow up like that. They just made my list of potential suppliers.

I am pretty sure some of the Kioti dealers pointed Kioti corporate to this discussion. Very embarising for the brand. Good for TBN. Ken Sweet

All very interesting. When I first started looking at tractors I went to a farm show in a neighbouring province. Looked at the units and list price and took info and notes and talked to the reps.

When the time came to purchase I made a huge list of items and faxed them to two dealers that were within the selling zone to me: one dealer was 2 hours away, the other about 1.75 hours. The info sent indicated it would be a cash deal. Give your best price. The quotes were different in pricing. I set my mind to the lower price. Meanwhile an ad came up in a local farm mag for a green unit. A little different than what I wanted but it had some bonuses: namely, 10 hp more, higher ground clearance and bigger loader and cheaper than the tractor I was looking at - at least base price. So I stopped in one day with my list and copy of the ad. The first thing the salesman said to me is that he couldn't honour the ad. This ad was a full colour page generic ad from the company with the dealer name stripped in. My background is in corporate communications regarding all aspect of corporate communications including advertising campaigns etc. I again asked why he couldn't honour and he looked dumb-founded. So I told him if he couldn't honour the ad price there was no point on quoting on the rest of the equipment needed.

So back to the dealer(kioti) we looked over the tractor briefly. I explained what I wanted to do. We went over the list - he made a few suggestions which saved some $$$ but also added some $$$. We then started to discuss dollars and again told him this would be a cash deal and if an agreed price was settled I would give a deposit before leaving based on a signed price for everything. We came close to what I wanted - not ideal but close. And the price was below the initial faxed price.

I made some purchases from him after the sale. Called around for pricing and called him for his price - explained I was calling around, told him the other dealer's price and got better pricing from him.

TurtleRiver. It's your money - period! Unfortunately the dealer missed a good sale. Bonus is that Kioti has a new ambassador and tractor owner. If kioti really wanted to step up to the plate they would have asked you to return the tractor to the dealer and advised that dealer to honour the original kioti dealer's price with an upgrade. And yes I know this statement may not sit well here but hey there is a lot of wiggle room out there for selling and dealing...

Enjoy your new unit. You have earned it!

Hi everyone,

How come in Saskatchewan you're getting a quote around 25k for a DK45/loader/cab while around here in Quebec I got, as of yesterday, a quote of 29k for a DK45/loader/no cab? or 36k with the cab...

The DK55 was about 3.5k more...

Can the prices be so different (12k) between Saskatchewan and Quebec with only 1 or 2 more days of train transport or is there something awfully wrong with the 50% more quote i'm getting ?

Thanks, North
