Tractor -> Acreage Ratio

:laughing:

Now now Nru... You cannot count your chainsaw unless you can ride it... Then we have to debate if it should have a cab or open station, then what tires....

:D

Hey, wait a minute, I did not include my pressure washer! And you ride the chainsaw with your hands! LOL!

you forgot about color and how good the dealer is where you bought it and whether or not your warrenty will cover problems if use off your property!

:laughing:

Hmmm, well, I bought it from Lowes and it is a husky, used, and no warranty. It is sitting up on blocks right now, no tires at this time. Buy I am thinking about a bigger chainsaw:laughing:

4200 = 26.3 hp
X475 = 23.0 hp

49.3 hp / 2.4 acres = 20.54 hp/ac

And here I thought I was underpowered!

I can add a walk-behind snowblower (10hp) and chipper/shredder (10hp) too for 28.9 hp/ac.

JD770=24hp

2 acres@12hp per acre.

I think i have the least horsepower per acre. I have two 1991 JD2955 @ 97hp and 4800 acres, but 900 acres are in brush so tractors work on just 3900 acres. so that's 194 hp divided by 3900. 0.049 hp per acre

Welcome to TBN, jschimmel:thumbsup:

You are, surely, in a class by yourself here...both being tractor hp/acre challenged as well as total acreage.

However, you are using real tractors over real crop acreage and really farming....hmm, bet you could tell some stories here on TBN that puts a different perspective on many of our favorite topics..

We look forward to your continued participation:D

thanks for the welcome. no it's not real crop acerage or technically farming. unless you consider native grasses that cattle directly graze on a crop. So, the tractors are more for pasture maintenance; I mainly run shredders over huisache/mesquite, and maintain/build roads, as well as build lakes. My two tractors together touch every acre (-900) in a period of 14 months. The grasses are mainly native /coastal bermuda. I do have some crazy stories though that i look forward to sharing down the road.

Got it...you are a rancher, me too...I got rid of all my mesquite chemically...took about 10 years...suggest you fill out your profile a bit more...am betting you are in South Texas, from the hints you have given. Took 19 head to sale this week, combination of cull cows, steer/heifer calves. Plus one renegade yearling heifer for neighbor..dangerous, brangus looking fence and pen jumper. :thumbsup:
