3-Point Hitch DK45S and 6ft Modern Brush Hog

If a 6ft brush hog is attached to a DK45S correctly, should the brush hog come completely off the ground when raising the 3 point to it highest position?

Depends on how you have the toplink set. Basically you should be able to lift the mower all the way off the ground but if the top link is set really long perhaps the geometry won't allow it. Certainly the 3pt lift capacity should not be an issue.

Shorten the top link in the floating hitch until the hitch hangs at about a 45 degree angle. SLOWLY lift the 3-point and shorten the top link if necessary. Be careful that the PTO Drive-line doesn't bottom out on the top of the deck before you get to the raised position.

My rotary cutter is about 18 inches off (and parallel to) the ground when fully raised. Older John Deere model. 2006 Kioti DK45C

The top link was in the highest position. I moved it to the lowest position and now i am getting about 10 inches of lift measuring off the wheel of the rotary cutter to the ground. Thanks for the help.

I'd expect a little more clearance. Is the toplink itself mostly extended or not. Michigan Iron gave good advice on how to adjust it.
