My experience has been they both kill the weeds. Round Up seems to act quicker and you usually seed results in a couple of days. The other sometimes takes a week. I first noticed in a Lowes when looking at quart size that the Round Up they had was something like 18% so it took a lot more to equal the same concentration as I believe it was Total Kill that was 41%. The stuff I bought at Tractor Supply said it had a surfactant in it which based on the way it foamed, I suspect it was basicly dish washing soap. After the 1st tank mix, I started putting in most of the water before adding the weed killer to avoid so much waiting on the foam to go down. Oh well, used the time lubing the FEL.

I have been using the generic round-up this year. Get it from our county noxious weed department for about $22.00 for 2-1/2 gallon. It seems to me that things comeback faster, but that is probably just due to the rainfall we have had this year. I mix it exactly as I have mixed the "real" stuff and haven't noticed any difference in the killing ability. I use a sprayer mounted on a 4 wheeler.

some great info I had the same thought but was concerned about dripping also glad to hear that was not a problem. Instead of my BX was thinking of putting one in back of my RTV 900 and spray from seat.

We use a sprayer in the bed of our Rhino for spraying as it is a lot quicker and smoother to get around our farms.

LeeJohn - On the box, it says it is "Round Up Ready". I wasn't highly concerned about that as I wasn't comfortable with putting it in my bigger sprayer as it tends to drip a little and didn't really want to risk the roller pump which was a little more than this whole rig and was tired of walking around with that 3 gallon sprayer on my back. I figgured I was willing to risk $80 and just make sure I clean it well after each use. I was mainly just passing on what ended up being a pretty simple solution to spraying the product.

The problem for me about buying herbicides through the county is it requires taking time off from work as they are open the same hours I work and since I actually work in a different county than I live, I can't easily do it on my lunch hour.

Yesterday I went to a new Tractor Supply near where I work and bought a 15 gallon spot sprayer with the 12 volt demand pump on it for $79.

I saw the 15 Gal sprayer at TSC today for $99, think it had a 12' hose. Was yours on sale for $79? What does it mean by "roundup ready"? I need a sprayer like this to keep a gravel parking area weed free.

I do just that with my RTV 900. Well, my wife enjoys driving the RTV, so she drives and I spray.

I'm in the process of trying to rid my farm of privet (a truly abominable invasive species). I have a 15 gallon sprayer with a 1 gpm flow rate that does a decent job, but I plan to upgrade to a 25 gallon sprayer with a 2gpm flow rate.

The battery location on the RTV makes it easy to attach the alligator clips of the sprayer's electrical wiring, but I was thinking about rigging up a connection to the 12 volt outlet on the RTV's dash.

Here's a photo of my (make that our) RTV with the sprayer.

I don't really know if it was on sale or not. This is a new store in Lawrence KS. It had only been open about a week. So it may have been an Manager Special type thing. When I first saw it in the store, I did not buy it if for no other reason than I was on the motorcycle that day, but I went back and looked it up on line and it was listed there for $99 also. Actually after buying it on a Friday and using it on Saturday morning, I got a coupon in the mail from TS for 10% off if the total purchase was over $100. I went back to the store on Tuesday, and the Manager said no problem, put the $150 I had spent on Friday back on my card and re-rung it with the discount, so the net was $71 for the sprayer.

The manager at the store told me when I bought it that as he understood they put some different seals in the pump that would hold up better to the Roundup which is very caustic. The PTO roller pump I bought is not supposed to be Roundup ready. I still flushed the tank and ran clean water through it 3 or 4 times before putting it up. I believe this one has a 20' hose with it.

thanks, I did see it for $79 on amazon. my last TSC coupon had expired, so I didn't get the sprayer. I have a 2 gal hand pump sprayer dedicated to roundup, I have separate sprayers for everything, but thought the electric one would be nice because I need to do a large area.
