Using truck bed coating on Floorboards of tractor

Another vote for Durabak. I have coated my job trailer floor, my flat bed excavator trailer, hammer handles, in all different colors. It also has a smooth and a textured version. For a do it yourself, it is as good as I had hoped for. The only down side I can think of is that it only comes in gallons. Maybe that is part of the reason I have coated so many different things.

The Plasticote that I've used looked great when I first put it on. It did take several coats for things like plier handles, etc. But what I didn't like about it was that after a little time it'd get nasty looking; grease and grime seemed to soak in. And the edges would get raveled and tear off easily. Worst part was that with any oil or grease on you hands (or feet), it would be very slippery. Your experience may be different that mine, but I don't use it anymore.

I did cover my trailer metal floor with Herculiner though, and loved that. I put it over the fenders as well. Stepping off on a wet metal fender and bustin' my b*tt just got old real quick. It's been covered now for about 4 years and shows no sign of wear or weathering.

There were a few folks who painted their 790 floor sections with non-skid paint (I thought it was made for truck beds or boat decks). This had been posted on TBN a few years back.
They looked pretty good...never got around to it myself.

I've also used non-skid paint on my 20' x 25' deck. I've had decks before that became very slippery after some use and when they got damp, and wanted to avoid that.

I bought the grit in 1# containers at Lowe's and added it to my paint just before applying. Two coats of primer and two coats of finish with the last coat of finish with the grit added worked great. It's like new after 4 years of use, not showing any wear at all or weathering.

Most probably adding the grit for your trailer deck would also be ideal. The grit, contrary to what most people think, is not simply sand added. It appears to be ground up glass or stone. Regardless, the grit doesn't wear down easily. Might be much cheaper way to go than with bed liner... ? Just add the last coat with the grit.

Boy, I wouldn't even know where to look...it's been at least 2-3 years (or more) ago. Not sure if it was a dedicated thread or just a series of posts in an unrelated thread.
I just recall the 790 aspect since I had a 790 at that time and I looked to see how difficult it was the remove the floor plates. Never followed through with painting mine.

Never used it on my tractor however we used it on the floor of my buddies jeep to replace the carpet, worked like a charm, just sprinkled some floor grit in it to make it so it wasn't slick when wet. I think we used some commercial stuff called Rhino liner.

I finished it about 2 weeks ago, It looked great and still wearing good so far, but is very dirty, as dust is more like white and this is very black shows footprints immediately but no big deal. Really helps so far with the slippery thing. I have not got any grease on it. and so far no peeling. I did prep pretty well, I used 600 grit sandpaper to rough up the paint really well, and then followed that with xylene. 2 coats.
