Buying Advice Want a PTO drive wood chipper / Shredder

I would like to purchase a good used PTO drive wood chipper / shredder. I would like to chip / shred a lot of Autumn Olive bushes that are trying to take over my farm fields. It should be in convenient driving distance from Grand Rapids Michigan.

Watch Craigslist.org...that's where I got my Woods 5000 for a good price.
If you want a chipper/shredder for your IH 674 (62 PTO HP), you'll want a bigger chipper/shredder then the 5000 (which is rated up to 30 PTO HP). A potential problem may be finding a chipper/shredder large enough to handle your tractor's PTO HP. Finding a chipper shouldn't be too difficult, but the shredder might be a problem.

As far as brand...well, I'm happy with the Woods 5000.

Goosan makes nice chipper/shredders. Not sure they have one that is size appropriate for your tractor though. Used PTO units aren't all that common. Not the easiest to find used. The Wallensteins are also very popular. Search for Chipper/shredders in the attachment forum. A lot of good info there.

I've been looking some more and if I can find an affordable chipper shredder that has it's own power, 15 - 30hp, I would consider buying it.

Finding larger chipper/shredders isn't easy...as I'd written, look at Craigslist Farm and Garden ads. In the PA area, there's a fair number of chipper/shredders (on CL). Most are smaller 5-10 HP units though.
Might be time to ante up and look into new chipper/shredders.

I found what I was looking for. I had an add on Craigslist and someone responded with a 73454 Bearcat PTO chipper.

I would be interested to see what you think of this, and any pictures if you have them.

I have been looking at the Woods 8100 Chipper but it's pretty pricey, but it has the hydro feed which I want.
