New 5 ft Sickle mowers for CUT's $2395

RT, If I am thing straight?? A person would need to leave his loader hydraulic functions all connected to get the maximum benefit of the range of mowing while on the front buclet. (Up/down/Tilt). Now I am at the place where I need to plug the sickle drive motor into 2 lines at the back for sickle movement and then additional 2 lines at the back for putting the sickle bar horizontal or vertical. Would many compact tractors have 4 lines out the back along with full hydraulic loader function? Got me thinking now :confused3: Ken Sweet

I was thinking about that too. I have a 3rd function valve which I guess could drive the pump/motor. I imagine things will slow if I move the bucket while running the 3rd function. Also, one guy had a horizontal cylinder to move the whole unit outboard and inboard. Now I see why he had a bunch of lines going to the rear of the tractor.

Two lines (one supply and one return) from one valve to run the pump/motor... and two lines (one supply and one return) from another valve to run the position control of the sickle.

In addition to that, one guy had a horizontal cylinder to move the whole unit inboard and outboard.

Man, talking about of lot of hydraulic controls to run a sickle.

With my two rear remotes and 3rd function up front I could do this, however there would be a lot of $$$ for the extras like lines, fittings, cylinder, mount, qa mount, cylinder slide, etc.

Of course the cheapest route would be to just bolt it to the side of the bucket as shown in some of the videos. But still, there are some hydraulic line and fittings expense.

It is pretty cool though! :)

Your explanation is what I was thinking also. Ken Sweet

Have you guys got your fences, road banks, pond dams and fall hay cut yet? I have 2 of these units left at the current $2395 price. I just got my 2011 price list yesterday and the next ones are going to be $2995. If you need one, don't wait until next season! This is the only mower that I know of that fits the 15 to 30 hp CUT's and Sub CUT's.
Thanks to all who have bought this mower this summer. I am sure you will have many years of good solid service from your machine. Ken Sweet

Ken,

Prolly asked you already, but do you have a used 7-9' with hydraulic raise/lower?

I have the new 7 ft Superior or Enrossi brands with hydraulic lift cylinder for $3695 either brand. If the user is capable of lifting the bar to transport, the hyd. cyl kit is not needed. The new or used sickle mowers follow the contour of the fields or banks being mowed automatically. No cyl is required to move the bar while in operation. Ken Sweet
