Thanks for the responses! I have been doing a little bit of homework, can be tough on these older machines. I guess it takes time to do your best not to get screwed, and you still might. Most of the private sellers don't have numbers or much detailed info on the tractor let alone the hoe/loader. Dealers seem only interested in selling what they have instead of offering much info on parts for older tractors unless it's one they have on their lot. It goes with the territory of trying to get anything good for short money, tratcors, cars, lawn mowers, etc.
I started a thread in the MF forum, thinking about a 1958 MF 202 loader/hoe for $3,000 firm (down from $4,000). Operational but with issues (engine smokes, some cyclinders need rebuilding).
I'm also hoping to go check out a 1955 International 300 utility with Henry loader/hoe. Ad says "old and loose" but runs good, some newer parts. He wants $4,200 but is only one town over which is a plus. I'm going to post in the Case-IH forum for thoughts on that one.
