Wow Higgy great work, I never thought that Idaho was so flat. I thought it was a mountainous state. looks very flat from the pics not a mountain/hill in site. I have to get out to that side of the country sometime, I always wanted to see the upper west.

I spent about a month in Mountain Home, Idaho -- flat as a pancake, and tumbleweeds blowin' around everywhere. You could however, see mountains in the distance.

In the AF huh?

We have lots of high mountains in this area, close. It is only 20 minutes to the south hills, not high they only go to about 8000 ft. The white clouds and the saw tooths, 1 hour north go to 12-13000 and the tetons (where my cabin is) goes to 14000. The town where I live is at approx 3500.

We have a big dich in town, see attached photo. This is where evil bowlweevel tried to jump the snake river canyon.

The valley where my prop is is flat, easy to mow /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Why this big ridge beam (looks like a glulam) if you have trusses?

/ The project that keeps me out of trouble #26
Good looking crew there. As the pictures show must be some hard workers too. Nice looking place there. It feels good to work on your own place dosen't it? That's how I felt about ours. Keep up the photo's and take good care of that crew. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The gluelam at the top and at the wall plates are to hold and extended prow roofline. The prow will be 6.5 feet at the top and three feet at the wall plate hight. The soffits will be 10" deep. The large window is a 16 foot double sliding french door and the smaller one is a 7 foor single slideing french door.

The combination of beam and truss is interesting to work with, this is the first time that I have used both together. In phase 2 there is an internal beam that is 60 feet long with trusses on both ends. That should be fun.

Wow 11-12-04 been a while.

Well I am finally about done with the projects. 2 houses, one for mom and dad, my house, 2 bay shops in the house with mom and dad, one working shop, stall barns, riding area and pasture. Also turned the weed field into productive land and am getting 3 cuttings of grass a year.

All that and a job that keeps me on the road up to 30 weeks a year.

Darn, no wonder that I feel tired and bone weary.

If folks want I will post pictures

Welcome back! Sure, we want pictures. You must be really proud of your accomplishments. Please share!

We were through Idaho this spring on a trip and saw lots of fields of grass being grown for hay. Tell us a little about your crop if you'd like. I sure saw a lot of irrigation going on and hay crops I couldn't really identify while whizzing by at 70 mph.
