You guys are just making me sick. (Not at you!) But sick that in our state of WI it is against the law to have a loaded or even uncased weapon available in or on a vehicle. I've been shredding on a 160 acre woodland plot and had to grab the "emergency TP" and hot foot it to the back of a tree. And while "occupied" have had 300# bears walk within 20 yards of me and the RUNNING tractor. In the past 10 years, they have gone from skittish to bold. Very bold. I have gotten off to move branches, rocks, stumps, etc and jumped up coyote's, racoons, racoons that charged and were probably rabid, wolves and snakes. (I hate snakes!) There have been reports of gangs of Asians from Milwaukee turning woodlots into drug manufacturing areas too. I would not want to run up against them unarmed (or even armed for that matter! But better armed than not). Yet our limp wristed panty waist politicians in the big cities don't think we have any rational need to have a loaded gun on or about our persons while on a vehicle. And they explicitly include farm equipment as vehicles. And no CC possible either.

They can pass all the laws they want but when it comes to my safety and the safety of my family the story goes, "Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6" so in this day and age with crime running rampant and the police out numbered I'll take the chances with a jury of my peers. That said my property (and tractor) is protected by Glock.

Amen, Keyman.

Heck I would just carry my clip in one pocket and the gun in another if I was worried about being law abiding. But in reality I would probably just not have one in the chamber. If they come after our guns we'll give em our ammo first.

Most states have laws like that, but they very seldom apply to your own private property,. If they do apply to your own private property, then I would get a CCW permit or just hide the weapon, :D.
B.T.W. I do not go outside without sending my early warning system out first, Hanz my German Shepherd, and I do not go out without a weapon that will protect myself or Hanz from Griz & Black Bear, Cougars, Wolves, etc... :D :D :D KC

While I can't say that I would ever carry on the tractor I am on 45 acres of land on the edge of a couple thousand acres of forest. We've got bobcat, coyote, black bear, mountain lions, beaver, nutria, boomers, deer, elk and a plethora of snakes. If I'm heading off into the woods for a walk I'm carrying my Glock 17 and no matter where I am my Gerber Gator machete is always within arms reach. Check em out. It's a wicked sharp blade and a great tool. Always keep your options open. :)7

For a handgun, it would be pretty easy to take a kydex holster with good renetion could easily be fabbed up to a mount of some sort. Kydex is cheap and easily worked.
