New Massey Ferguson 165 Tractor

Hi all,
I just bought a "new" tractor. I have never owned a tractor before, and know nothing about them. The farmer I bought this one from showed me how to start and drive it. This one is about twice as big as those I have been looking at (both power and weight, rated 58 hp engine from Internet), and also old.

It has a front end loader and should be able to knock down small cedar trees easily, medium trees with help from a chain saw, to clear paths through my woods. I have lots of small/medium trees, only a few large trees to go around.

I also plan to get a box scraper and rough mower for it.
I think it is has a CAT2 hitch. How can I determine the hitch type for sure?
I won't be running it full time. For light use, CAT1 implements generally cost less. Can I use CAT1 implements on a CAT2 tractor?

Congrats on the "new" tractor and welcome.

I too recently bought a tractor with a CAT 2 hitch. My old tractor was a CAT 1 and so all of my implements are as well. The main difference I have found is that the draw pins, that the 3-point hitch arms connect to on the implements, are bigger for CAT 2. I was able to pick up some CAT 2 draw pins from TSC and change them out. It worked just fine for me. There may be other differences that I am not aware of and I am sure others will chime in if so. You can get bushings for your implament pins that will turn them into cat 2. This will work just fine or you can change out your pins on your equipment. The pins run about $7 each.

Sorry I didn't look at my posting until years later! Yes I have a bunch of the bushings, and the cat 1 implements work fine on my tractor.
