Possibly as much of a Trial by Fire as a project I guess.
Interweb Massey Harris Serial Decoder Says its a 1940 MH 101 Sr.
Casting #s on the front frame hull says 11-25-40, So Im guessing that it was assembled in December of '40.
It came into the yard with a seized left brake assy, seized but floppy shifter, seized steering gearbox, and 5 gallons of water where there should have only been gear grease. Freed up and greased up everything that would take it and dissasembled, heated and beat on stuff that wouldnt take lube, until it would.
This is my first foray into the world of Tractors, But inspecting the Transmission, it appeared to be in excellent shape. I was unable to get the top link/diff cover off to look in there, but I expect its in the same kind of condition.
Probably over the last 50 years or so, It slowly lost its tin, tank, and everything else that was attached to the Engine. Im unsure about what to power it with, but Unless a Continental or Chrysler engine that belongs in one shows up cheap and easy, its probably going to get something automotive like a GM250-6 or AMC258-6 or small industrial Deisel- Thinking an F3L-912 or a 2-53 Detroit.
But anything could happen.
