Our nieghboors just bought a new used F-250 that came with a 2 year 8ft Fisher Plow. It ha no rust at all an everything was in good shape. They maid me an offer, they would give the plow, but, i have to plow their 700' drive way everytime it snows. So last week we had a friend who is a great welder make us a special mount for the front of the 4320. I don't think the deal was too bad because the plow is basic new. now i have 1,300 feet of driveway to plow everytime it snows. Here is the blade.....

It depends on how long they live next to you. If 30 years from now you are still plowing the snow, I would say they got the better end of the deal. Of course if you are like me, you would probably plow it anyway. Can you show us the pictures of the special mount for your blade?

We can all relax!!!!
National Weather Bureau and the Farmer's Almanac both predict a mild "warmer then usual" winter for most of the U.S. this year!!!!! Whew!!!

Wonder if tirechains.com will give me my money back?

My JD 4010 with FEL and rear blade did fine in last year's 56" record breaker, if I got out before accumulation exceeded about 4 to 6". Up to that level, I could do most of it with the rear blade. Snow removal gets much longer if the FEL has to be resorted to.

I had a Gravely before the JD that had a 4' blade that moved snow well, but it would not have been the tool for last year's snow because it would have trouble stacking up the snow. I can stack it to some extent with the rear blade and a lot with the FEL. The Gravely needed dual wheels on both sides or chains to move that plow. The 4010 does fine with turf tires. If I had a greatly sloped driveway, it would probably need some chains.

I'll be clearing snow with a Bobcat S185 Turbo, High Flow and a 73" Erskine ES2400 blower on 1 mile of road. Annual snowfall of 500". My first year doing it myself. I'm somewhere between giggity and horrified.

I've always been using a 77 International 2 1/2 ton 4wd Dump Truck to plow with. It's only let me down once when we got over 40" of snow in a 12 hour period. Even then I would have to fire up the dozer a couple of times during the winter and push the large piles of snow into the woods and knock down the banks. This year I've added a Kubota 4240 with a front mount blower. I'm not sure where the cut off will be on how much snow before switching to the Kubota but I think I have the bases covered.

So like others here I'm expecting not very much of the white stuff this year. Well at least I didn't buy a snow machine too, that would have made sure the nearest snow flake was three states away all winter.
