Time to repay the other members - my 32 x 28 garage

Well for years now I've been reading and looking at all the pictures of other members projects so I figure I should repay all of you who've shared and entertained me. I'm close to finishing a 28 by 32 Gambriel garage (I call it a man cave, lol). I would call it a barn but my GF didn't want it to be red, to me barns are red. So over the next few days I'll upload pictures. Enjoy.

I didn't get any pictures of the W21 I beam getting set since there was just two of us and getting it on top of the 10' steel posts was as high as the BH could go. I left the bottom row of sheathing off because the rain.

It looks like you poured slab with deeper edges and then put short concrete wall on it? How deep did you go?

The ground had some ledge that ran diagnally through it. I was able to break some of it apart with the backhoe. I would like to have set the garage about 20 feet further back into the bank but that would have required blasting. Because of the ground I went 20" thick around the edges, about 24" in then it tapers up to 6"+ in the center with a spot a little over 8" thick where I'll put a 2 post lift. I also put a lot of 1/2" rebar around the edges and across the center. I figured I couldn't change my mond after I poured.

I`m about on the same steps as you, except for me it's re-do after 25 years of neglect by PO :laughing:

Can you get pictures from the inside looking out, and pictures of your ceiling?
I`m curious how you setup the floor joists, and if you used header boards above the garage door openings.

Hard to tell in the pics but is the 2nd story a true second story or just attic space? Looks almost too short to walk in? (Might be illusion). Either way that 2nd story will be awesome once you (and me) are done and can fully utilize it

We put a concrete slab out behind it for air compressor and air dryer, and I plan to add a 22' attached carport off the back to store stuff, and eventually my goal is to add a 3rd car / carport on one side.. *dreaming*
