front grill on 2320

hey guys...the dealer is building my 2320 and will be bringing it out tomorrow but I had a quick question.....the kid that's putting it together showed me the front brush guard and how it folds down to have room to pop the hood....I noticed that it only folds down a quarter way before it stops...in some youtube videos of the 2320 I notice it folds all the way down but they don't have a FEL installed either.....is this the way its suppose to work with a FEL installed (quarter way down)?..... im thinking if it was installed to fold down all the way with a FEL then it would hit the bucket....

I think that is the way it is meant to be.

If you can get the hood open with FEL on, then that should be all you need. Or are you thinking something else?

yup I can still get to the hood latch but I was just making sure that this is the way it was suppose to work...:thumbsup:

The grill guard on my "06" 2305 did fold out straight or flat, at some point in time JD changed the stop tab such that it only opens about 1/4 as you say. My 2010 2320 only opens that far and both have the 200cx loader. As I recall the guard did not interefere with the loader on the 2305, so I'm not sure why the change was made, perhaps somebody forgot to fold it up and damaged something?... who knows

The grill guard on my two year old 2320 folds flat. But if I lifted the fel while the guard was down, there would be interference.

The latch on my grill guard (2520) has a pin that retracts from a locking hole when you activate a little lever, which allows it to fold. It only folds out about 1/4 of the way. Just enough to allow easy reach at the hood latch.

thanks guys..im thinking that john deere made a change to the new ones to only allow the "quarter fold down" ...glad to see im not the only one with it like this...
