Ended up buying a new Grand L3940, HST-3 4WD w/6' hog. Ag tires. No weights or filling.
Very pleased with Barlow Equipment and the level of service, as well as the price. I was shopping for this thing during a move, as well as doing it from several states away from its new home in coastal MS. Brady was very responsive and pleasant to deal with.
Thanks to all of you here on TBN for answering my questions (the same ones that you get asked over, and over, and...
). This site is a fantastic resource for the first time buyer.
I managed to put 8 hours on it, and am impressed with its capabilities, especially when cutting uphill at a 30 degree angle. This thing just chugs uphill like it doesn't exist. Some of the area I have to cut requires me to back the cutter into the woods, and the HST is magical when doing this repeatedly. Same when doing dirt work. I used the bucket to level off the old tractor barn floor in order to prep it for conversion into horse stalls. Piece of cake, and beats the heck out of doing all that with a shovel
The tractor will be getting the canopy, work lights, weight bar, ballast box, 2 rear hydro remotes and a third function valve for the FEL next week.
Can't wait to get back home for more seat time.
Here are the few pics that I took (yeah, I know, they are pretty lame.
All I wanted to do was drive it, not take pics of it:thumbsup
