Yeah, but not always. The LA402 and LA504 have the same capcity...

that's neat info to know. All should do something like that.

That is because Kubota went the way of Deere and changed where they take the measurement from. A little deceiving when figuring what you can actually lift but probably good for the salesmen!

So how are you supposed to know which are which? The LA514 on the Grand L obviously lifts more than my tractor, but not according to the model number. So I guess its an old model that was rated at the bucket center?

cannot argue that the number is close, but it does not match the pivot point rating nor the 500mm rating. It is, however somewhere inbetween for the LA463.

We can be thankful they didn't inflict a bunch of marketing hype on everyone by calling them the "Megabrawny 9000 Front End Loader" or some such, I guess, but assigning model numbers based on capacity has its own obvious problems. What if you have two different FEL designs with the same capacity? Do you give them the same LAxxx number? Or, is it LAxxx-1 and LAxxx-2? What if there is a whole new design - to fit the latest tractor, for example, but the same capacity? Kubota evidently ran into this with the FEL's for the largest L10, L30 and L40 models, for which the LA852, LA853 and LA854, respectively, were offered, all having pretty close to the same capacity.
