I have a high hour 4610 ehydro and the only real issue I've had in 300 hours are the sensors. Have replaced both the flywheel and MFWD sensors ($70ishUSD ea). There is a current thread about price for a throttle pos sensor for a 4310. My wallet puckered up at the price $200 wowzer! :ashamed:.

Anyone want to share their sensor issues with the 4xxx series?

Should I expect to replace these (MFWD/Flywheel) senors every 300 hours?

I will say the 4610 dummy lights tell you when to replace them - I thought Morse code was dead! And they are easy to replace, and unless you want cruise control it really dose not matter.

I'm thinking no replies is a good thing:)

I'll quit whining now
:cloud9:

Good luck to Chickenman and his 4310 woes.

No whining, I have a 4310 EHydro with almost 600 hours on it, no problems yet, knock on wood.

300 hrs is high? :confused2: deere had some bad speed sensors for a wile I dont think the up dated ones are an issue. I believe the speed sensor will afect the antistall as well as the cruse.

says it will run at reduced efficiency if they are out of calibration

I have 4710 with approx. 500 hrs with bad flywheel sensor and it does affect cruise and loadmatch. Other than that it shows no other symptoms. Trying to save up the money now for the Hall Effect Transistor.

how do you know it's bad?

Chickenman - my 4610 has a troublecode light which flashes a 3 digit morse code to alert you of trouble. It told me the correct issue twice. Two sensors, two cruise control "repairs". The 4310 should have a trouble light as well?

Brimstone - I bought the 4610 one year ago with 1440 hours on it. I'm happy with its "trouble free" almost 300 hours since it became my favorite item. I took a pic of the hour meter :confused2: you can see I'm a few hours short of 300 but from what I've read here 300 is a lot in one year. Its kinda like a sickness. From Sept 08 to Sept 09 I probably played 100 rounds of golf - since Sept 09 til now maybe 10 rounds - 1/2 with Dad because... you know - I cant spurn him for SEAT TIME:laughing:

I love my 4610! I keep waiting for the weld on the draft arm to break -Pic attached- it was like that when I got it. Also one of the sensors was already dead so the code was flashing. Think those two issues saved me some bucks:thumbsup:

I work her hard and often so she is a little dirty today but I still think shes fine - last pic.

the error code means there is a problem that the sensor is out of calibration, not necessarily that it's bad

try this, turn the key on and but don't start the engine wait 5 or so seconds and push the throttle full open for at least 5 seconds

turn the key off and wait a few seconds then back on and see if the code clears

that is the calibration on my 4310 for the throttle and forward and reverse pedals

do with the pedals what you did with the throttle

So I'm getting the code for the hall effect sensors. How can you tell if you need to replace the one for the flywheel or for the MFWD? My loadmatch ehydro balks when switched on. Where are they located? (I'm being lazy but it is 101 degrees outside and 95% humidity.)

I will look for the testing instructions to see if they are good. Deere wants about $61 apiece for them. Has anyone found a suitable crossover at Napa or anywhere else? Sure would be nice to find them cheaper.

PS, tractor works fine for everything else, just when you try to switch on the Loadmatch.
