Fallen through the ice?

I'd say blow the pothole out, using prilled anhydrous nitrogen fertilizer. It works good, but may be hard to get any with the fear you will blow something else up, and the druggies using it to make meth. Too bad because we used to use it to blow potholes for ducks.

Pound for pound, equal to dynamite and easy to use. Add a little fuel oil and use a dynamite cap on a fuse to detonate. Just don't be down wind when the mud and muck fall back down to earth. :D

If you do wind up getting a piece of equipment to fall through the ice, there are some videos on youtube of trucks and fish huts that have broken through the ice. Some of them are quite interesting too, like the one that has about 6 segments to the entire event. I think on that one they actually broke the truck in half pulling on it and it literally came out in two sections!! I like to watch them and see what you canadians do for entertainment up north during those frigid winters!!

Exactly. Guys used to dig a hole, drop in a 55 gal drum filled with what is now considered a "fertilizer bomb" and presto! instant duck pond. Probably not able to do that anymore, but fun in the day.

Theres a dozer behind my house, on the pipeline, in the swamp.
You can't see it cause the "muck" swallowed it.
If you break the ice, with you and your machine on it.........theres a good chance you will never be seen again.

As a kid I watched some big equipment working on draining a swamp down the road from our house. The first night after dinner I rode my bicycle down to see what was going on. When I got there the dozer was under except for the canopy. I never did see them get it out of there.
