Thats why i like my MF 1800 to 2000 RPMs and im at my 540 mark. saving the fuel.![]()
Umm.....Aside from the fact that you like your MF, and we're all happy you do, it contributes little to the OP's questions about his L series.
The underlying assumption is that low revs equals good, while higher revs equals bad. Fact is that some engines, like the Kubotas, are designed to rev higher. Doesn't automatically follow they will use more fuel in doing so.
Honda 4 cyl engines, like the one in my wife's car, are notoriously high spinners, merely starting to breathe well at almost 4000 rpm and has a red line at 6500. Nature of the little beastie.
It's great on gas, and known for running 300,000 miles, virtually trouble free. I once had an unsophisticated, older designed 4 banger that would have puked at 4500 rpm. The Honda is of much higher tolerance, design and balance. Have you heard an Indy car or Formula 1 car rev?
Point being, it is meaningless. These are design features. Your Iseki (I assume) is designed one way and a Kubota another. Neither should be viewed as inherently superior to the other, on RPM face value alone.
