955 issue

I went and filled the tank up with fresh diesel and the problem went away. So I guess it's one of 2 issues:

1: a bad tank of fuel
2: a busted or clogged pickup.

There is another possible cause: The sludge buildup at the bottom of
your fuel tank is getting up to the level of your pickup tube.

All my 955s had sludge in the tanks and they were less than 10y old.
Unfortunately, it is hard to clean out without removing the tank. Newer
JDs have a drain at the bottom of the tank to help with this problem. Even
with the drain, I have had to back-blow thru the valve to break thru the
sludge.

Certainly possible. It is probably more a function of age and how the
tractor is stored than the hours.
