Filled up my jug today and wound up filling with premium diesel instead of regular diesel. Is this ok for the Kubotas? I would assume so... but I want to double check.

I know with regular gas the premium is usually a higher octane specifically for higher compression motors. Is premium diesel similar?

Where do you live and where did you get the 'premium' diesel at? Did they say what made it premium? Only diesel you can get today for on road use is ULSDF, #1 or #2 or mix depending on where you live and what time of year it is. For off road, you can still get LSDF at co-op's and fuel distributors. I'm in Southern MN and this was just at a quick trip.

They have a spout on both sides.. the one was being used so I went to the other side. The first thing I noticed was the nozzel on the end didn't fit in my container so I looked and made sure it was diesel... yep, it was. So I started filling and looked again and saw "premium" on it.

Kinda had me stumped. One side wasn't premium and I know the spout fits into the jug, this side was labeled premium and had a bigger nozzel on the end.

I have never heard of premium diesel fuel. # 1 for winter and # 2 for summer.

I've never heard of premium diesel in the US at least, however I have seen it overseas. I'm wondering if it's some type of spin on ULSD. Perhaps a cetane additive has been added already, or it has higher cetane content.

Our standards in the US are either 40 or 45 cetane rating. In Europe they cringe when they see 50. They have much higher standards for diesel, and perhaps this "premium" is a higher cetane content. In that case, it's just fine if not better. However, it's geared probably more towards high power ratio diesels like trucks and cars. Tractors are usually VERY derated for longevity.

Up here in the Northeast they have Diesel on one side of the pump & Kerosene on the other.

Sarg, you're making me worried now.. lol... I KNOW it say diesel, was a green pump and it said "premium" in small letters near the top. The other side just said diesel. The whole box was green. :)
