Family Farm Ordered to Destroy 50,000 Pounds of Cheese

The biggest problem when we see a story like this is the way things went about. For example it says they where not allowed to ship milk to another market for 6 weeks. Why would this be? I am assuming that their "milking" facilities would be inspected just like any other diary producer so why would it take that long to be able to ship milk?

I have seen instances when there is a barn fire or something where a guy will move his herd to a neighbors vacant barn and be up and shipping milk in a few days or less.

ps My family loves raw milk. :licking:

one of the healthiest things a human can put in their body is unrefined natural bee honey...yet unless you know a bee farmer it is hard to find and illegal in many places to sell in public retail markets...

Exactly
Only reason it would take 6 weeks is if it took that long to pass the required facility & equipment inspections.

In which case the public was probably well served by them being shut down.

I'd take my chances with a family farm product versus the FDA and their "Kool-Aid" most anyday.

What if their "Kool Aid" was pasterized?

Certainly not the ONLY reason.

It would be easier for the govt to put them out of business by dragging there feet in not passing them.

We just don't know if this dairy is a real craphole that deserved to be shut down or a picture perfect example of a family farm that stepped on someones toes.

Thanks for posting this.
Now for the challenge : all you raw food advocates can use this thread to tally your contributions to the 50k lbs of cheese in question... or is that questionable cheese.... either way send your money, eat the cheese & post your resultant ailment or lack thereof.
For what it's worth I hope they sell every ounce and every consumer enjoys their purchase without any adverse affect. MikeD74T

Just curious as to how many of you have had the privilege of milking the cow and having Raw Milk on a daily basis?:)

It's actually best after a day sitting in the refrigerator and just pouring off the top of the jug! Let the cats and dog have the rest:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm waiting for pasturised raw cherries!:D
