Yesterday, Sat, 10-23-2010, I drove to the Mahindra dealer, in Anderson, MO, to see their line of tractors. I must say, that I was impressed with what I saw and heard.
The owner told me the history of Mahindra and that he'd just returned from a trip to the main tractor production plant in India. He said it was state of the art, huge and spotless, with a well trained and dilligent workforce. Mahindra has the #1 tractor product in the world as far as market share and unit sales. The company has a very long history.
The dealership was very nice with lots of various size Mahindra tractors and the service dept was also impressive.
I looked at the 2010, 5525, 2WD, with the factory loader, bucket and one set of rear remotes, and it was selling for $16,500 cash. The larger 6525, outfitted the same, but with 10 more HP, was $17,500. I didn't try to "negotiate" with the owner regarding price.**** The prices seem VERY good considering loaders alone are approaching 5 to 7 thousand dollars and just 1 set of remotes can be expensive to put on tractors that don't have them.
The New Holland "Workmaster" series, that I have been interested in are much more expensive even without a loader and bucket and are basically the same utility, stripper model like the Mahindra series that I looked at.
These two models, look like just what I need to move up from my New Holland TC40D. After I sell the TC, I plan on SERIOUSLY considering a Mahindra!
