There is alot to this story. There have been problems with the tractor shortly after purchase while still under warranty. They couldn't figure it out so they had the block man come and look. He was mad that he drove 700 miles and said it was a fuse. Not! It did it again and again. The fix was to disconnect the batteries when it would happen and let it set after 20 minutes or so the computer would reset and it would start. Not this time! Now the warranty is off and no one thinks they are responsible. The dealer has a mechanic that has not been trained properly and doesn't have a clue how to work on these tractors. The worse part is I bought this tractor March of 2008 and a month later decided to buy another McCormick xtx200. So it wasn't 60k I spent to earn such great customer service it was 160K. We thought we were helping our local small town dealer keep his doors open, just to have him and McCormick slam it in our face.
Based on your views, it seems that you are more concern with pointing blame on someone instead of getting your 60k machine running again. I guess that is why it's in your shop. Since your unit has been out of warranty for around 7 months, that is going to be a long road to go down, and your 60K tractor will still be sitting in your shop not running.
If you decide to change your view from pointing blame to more concern about getting the unit running again you're most likely to see things getting done more quickly.
I guess you need to figuare out what's more importing, laying blame, or getting your tractor fixed.
1. When you try to start your tractor does it start in the starting postion and go dead as soon as the key goes to the on position?
2. When you turn the key to the on position do you hear the fuel pump on the fuel filter assy. come on?
3. When you try to start the motor and have the motor turning over for about 25 seconds do you see any smoke from the exhaust?
4. What kind of diesel fuel are your using?
5. How long ago since your last fuel filter change?
