I have used the fiberglass sheets to repair a broke top, but for gouges maybe all you'd need is the glue without the sheet? How deep are the gouges, are there cracks? the fiberglass repair kits are fairly simple to use and are very strong.

Not too deep but there are a number of them. The deepest may 1/4" at the most

If it is a few small places, I'd suggest Brownell's Acraglas. You may can mix a little green paint with it or do the mixing on a John Deere catalog as it will take on some of the color of whatever it is mixed on. It is super tough stuff.

I will post some pics soon, and let everyone have a gander at my challenge.

did you say it was fiberglass or plastic?

I believe it is the same plastic as the fender, just a lot denser

here are some pics

I guess the scratches are not that deep. They look like I could sand them down with 80 - 100 grit sandpaper, blow away all the debris and spray paint.

Ouch.... Nuru, have you asked your dealer how they deal with damage to plastic components? I'd guess that they have to repair shipping and handling problems on new equipment - on occasion. They might even have some type of special "plastic paint" that incorporates (bonds) into the plastic rather that just laying on the surface.

Interesting thread - very curious to see a good solution.

Nuru,
That is definately in the realm of the bumper repair materials, you can mix it up similar to bondo and spread it over the gouges similar to spot putty. Sets up quickly and sand smooth.

AKfish, no I have not, but I will probably do that this week. It would be great if they had something.

having looked at it today, I probably can just sand it down a bit and spray it, with JD Green and some clear.
