Loving wife decided that I was too old to spend hours using a walk behind, and our old Troybuilt is 15 years old.
So she bought me this

Now I regret not building the cab that was to be the summer project.

Remembered that we had an older people cover from an other walk behind.

Nancy made me buy the front blower for my Deere so it wouldn't snow here either. It's going to be a dry winter!

I'll be more than happy to send better than half of our snow storms your way. ;)

Nice set up. :)

Congratulations! I used my Toro walk-behind for 18 years before deciding I was beating myself up too much.... Haven't used it now for a couple of years. (Anybody want to buy it?)

You'll love your new ability to move the white stuff!

Before & After.....:D

When I bought my 3pt blower a few years ago I told my wife if it never snowed again, it was worth the $$ for the peace of mind it gave me. It was a good thought but it's spent a lot of time chewing the white stuff.

Last year we had the most snow we have had in many many years (central va). Prior years all we would get is a dusting, and then we were hit with several snow storms. I live on a private drive that is over a mile long with steep hills. I used the FEL (it was light but deep) but thought how nice it would be to have a snow blower. I know if I buy one, it will never snow again!!! So for now I am just going to use the FEL and rear blade and see how it goes. I can only imagine it is probably impossible to get one in the winter time before a big snowstorm. If only money was not an issue.... :D:D

Don't worry - I got a new (to me) 6' blower this summer. We won't get any snow either.

Hey Dan -

I see you have a manual chute crank, and that the crank sits inside the cab with the blower on the ground. I am curious about how the crank moves when you lift the blower up - where does it end up with your 3pt at full lift? How does it work with the rear shield window?

My blower was equipped with hydraulic chute controls (but I don't have tractor remotes), so I built a valved control that sits back on the blower to run the chute. I have to reach back a couple of feet to work the controls with the blower down, but even then the valve assy ends up over my shoulder with the blower raised.

Incidentally, what is that shield that you have on there - I was planning on building something similar, but if they are commercially available, I might be better off buying one.

Not that I'll ever use it, since it isn't going to snow in New Hampshire ever again...

Thanks - JayC
