Prayin for snow now! I am going to use the 1100 to plow my c-store lot and do some residential accounts. Being that Boss doesn稚 make a mount for the 1100 as of yet, some modifications had to be made to the 900 mount. Basically the only thing is that the 900 mount is to short and an extension had to be welded to the back of it to reach the holes for the skid plate. I can hardly wait for it to snow. Pray for snow everybody. Any questions or comments are welcome.

looks awesome. However, I wonder if you are too light in the rear now? any plans to carry weight in the bed of rtv ?

I agree with radioman. You might need some more agressive tires and weight on the back. Nice setup. I live in the south so we don't get enough of the white stuff.

Nice setup...

I would think there would be enough rear weight. My 500 had an oversized, VERY heavy plow on it and I never had counterweight issues with it. Guess the first snow will tell. The tires might be an issue though.

Those tires do pretty well in snow due to their irregular outer tread. The Kubotas being as heavy as they are likely do not require ballast in back, but I have found with my Gators plowing it does help to maintain a level machine when moving the blade up and down and turning around, etc. The Boss is a well-designed plow and though it is pretty heavy its V-blade style and high moldboard should make it plow once down like a much lighter plow and actually will likely take less effort than a standard, non-flared, straight blade plow. One problem with the Kubotas is they do not have much engine power, so ballasting them with more than 200-300 pounds in back would actually begin to hurt their performance. My advice, for its worth of zero, is to ballast with 200-300 pounds of weight in the bed and go with your current tires and see how it goes. I bet unless it is really steep where you live it will go OK.

Two words for ya...NEW TIRES! You're gonna need em. I had those tires on my 900, only good for pleasure yard driving or cement. I put some Zilla tires on, now I can do just about everything in 2 wheel drive.

Another option would be the Maxxis Bighorn tires. They are really nice also if you are considering a tire upgrade (which I am not convinced still you need). I have had them on two other UTV's and now have them on my new Gator 825. They are radials, so they ride smooth, have multiple knobs in different orientations, and relatively square edges to make sure the entire width of the tire's track is on the pavement. They are excellent snow tires without the compromise of some more generally aggressive tires. I had a set of oversized ITP Mudlites on a diesel Gator of mine. They were actually outstanding snow tires, but rode so poorly everywhere else I went that it almost wasn't worth it to have them. They also wore marginally, not nearly as well as the Bighorn's. When one thinks even in high snowfall areas the actual number of days one is plowing and working in deep, fresh snow is not THAT frequent (though some of my Canadian buddies may argue this point) it may turn out that a less aggressive tire with chains or something smooth riding with good snow performance like a Bighorn may turn out to be the best choice. Or you could just try it as is and see how it goes.

I know what you mean on the ride quaility of the zilla's. I have vampires on my old honda, and you better be in the mud or it will beat you to death. but it will go anywhere. I had the big horns on my Ranger and sold them like an idiot. I will get another set one day. They won't go as many places as the Vampires but they are pretty good, and they ride really good.
