Hi,
My 2008/9? JD 2305 TLB (tractor/loader/backhoe) final assembly was completed at John Deere's Augusta, Georgia, USA plant on 09/03/2008.
The reason that I know that is that while the tractor was still at the dealer's, I opened up my tractor manuals round, plastic protective case, and saw that the manuals were in a sealed plastic bag. Over the manuals and the plastic bag that contained them, was a cover sheet of paper with some information on it. Part of that information was the tractor's final build/assembly date, and that was 09/03/2008...at Augusta, GA USA.
When I got back to my truck, I wrote that date down... I'm glad that I did, because when the tractor was delivered a few days later, that information sheet was nowhere to be found. A quick phone call to the dealer about that missing information sheet proved to be futile... no one seemed to know anything about it or had any idea of what might have happened to it.
I then sent an e-mail inquiry to John Deere's customer service, in a attempt to get copy of that information sheet. This was their reply:
"Please contact your local John Deere Dealer to see if they still have the sheet and can provide you a copy. The sheet you mentioned, I believe, is the standard pre-delivery inspection sheet used by the dealer to check in the tractor when delivered to the dealership. A copy is not normally given to the purchaser. Information regarding your unit is noted on the product identification tag and in the Operator's Manual."
The tractor's engine is a Japanese-built 24 HP Yanmar, and both the CX-200 FEL and the 260 back hoe were manufactured in Canada. That's according to the stickers that were on those attachments.
The last time I researched it (back in 2009), i read (on the Internet) that John Deere's line of small lawn and garden tractors (like they sell The Home Depot) were being built in India.
