Just brought home a 790

Congrats on the tractor. It's a good one.

I sometimes wrongly say that I have it's younger brother...I don't.

Would anyone digest the differences of the 790 from the 770.??

I think I could learn something, though I bet I've heard it before. (doesn't say much for me:D)

The 770 is the older brother, actually.
The 670 and 770 came out in 1988 or 1989. Very similar machines except for tire and engine size. The 790 came out in 1998 or 1999 and replaced the 770. The 790 was basically the same as the770 except for the engine...I think the 790 had slightly larger tires too.

That 790 looks great and likely has been well cared for. Enjoy your new tractor.

Do 790 parts fit the 770.?? ..... Hood, ROPS, fenders and such. Body parts.

How about the 3pt hitch.?? Same hardware or different.??

I do know that the 790 has 27hp and 24 pto/hp. The 770 @ 24hp and 20pto/hp.

The 790 would be in the running if I ever decide to spend more money for another tractor.

Quite a few parts do...in fact, the front axle casting is marked "670" (770's little brother) if I recall.
You'd have to do a bit of research comparing part numbers to determine exactly what parts do fit though. I looked at a 770 (before I went for the 790) and they are virtually identical tractors (except for tires and engine capacity).

Congrats on the new machine!

I concur with Roy. One thing I've noticed is that the new 3005 has a different looking front axle. Bolt locations and housing thickness look different. Probably a different supplier. But those are the only differences.
