"Don't worry - I got a new (to me) 6' blower this summer. We won't get any snow either."

I shall hold you to that Jay. ;)

Hey Dan -

I see you have a manual chute crank, and that the crank sits inside the cab with the blower on the ground. I am curious about how the crank moves when you lift the blower up - where does it end up with your 3pt at full lift? How does it work with the rear shield window?

My blower was equipped with hydraulic chute controls (but I don't have tractor remotes), so I built a valved control that sits back on the blower to run the chute. I have to reach back a couple of feet to work the controls with the blower down, but even then the valve assy ends up over my shoulder with the blower raised.

Incidentally, what is that shield that you have on there - I was planning on building something similar, but if they are commercially available, I might be better off buying one.

Not that I'll ever use it, since it isn't going to snow in New Hampshire ever again...

Thanks - JayC

Hi Jay:

The chute control handle is outside the shield,at full lift it clears the R.O.P.S. by about 3/4 inch. There is room under the shield for me to work the crank.

The snow shield is a garage sale refuge,Originally made to provide shelter for the op.,of a walk behind. I modified the framework so it could us the R.O.P.S. as the main support.Clamps and all I believe it cost less than $ 50.00

Last year i got a cabbed tractor to get me out of the weather when snowblowing. Well, winter sort of fizzled for us in New Hampshire and we only had a few decent size storms without any really big whoppers. Even my Dad in Philadelphia seemed to get more snow than we did. I figured it was my new rig that kept the snow at bay, but I am sure it wont hold off forever. Looking forward to the battle with snow this winter.

Your cab may not be the one you were going to build but it looks like it will keep the snow off. When you are ready for winter don't you find yourself saying "come on snow". Glad to see another that is "Ready for winter"...good going.

Yuh think you got problems? Not a snowflake in site. But you got yourself a great snow blower anyways. The former owner of Buhler Allied, John Buhler is a very dear and close personal friend of mine and he always stood behind his products, thats just one of the reasons I have one.

BTW I heard that Xmas has been canceled this year due to the predicted lack of snow, It's probably our fault:laughing:

We just got dumped on with over a foot of super wet heavy stuff in south central MN. The plow on the ATV which normally doesn't have issues just couldn't push it. It would just ride on top. Now Im wishing I would have purchased that blower for my kubota!

I got most of it cleaned up, but I think I'm gonna try the bucket tomorrow to clean things up.

Oh crap! and i was going to take partial credit for a snow-less winter. I'm right on the US border and south central MN ain't all that far from here. Hope the storm is headed east, straight north or south but not north west.

HOW dare you attempt to claim credit for a snowless winter when I am responsible for same when I brought my firewood processor out of storage and it started growling before we went to work????
