Turnbuckles are all the way in. I think if i cut one link it will fit snug and then i can loosen buckles to have some give...but right now the arms almost touch the tires...

Do your staychains attach to the axle housing with a shackle? It'll be easy to reattach 'em if they have a shackle. If not, you could buy and use a shackle after you take a link out of the chain........

Trouble with that is, the chain links are too fat to slip a shackle into. When they build those they apparently weld each link, and the shackle ends, after assembling them.

It seems to me that shortening the set by one link would require sawingoff/rewelding one eye of each shackle.

Buy a smaller/thinner shackle?

Another suggestion: See the bolt that goes through the bottom of the axle and provides an attachment point for the sway chains? I wonder if you could swap those parts around so that bolt goes through in the opposite direction, starting from the outer side, and the link secured by that bolt is farther out.

That might use up some of the unwanted length of the sway chains.

I could try to swap the chain mount to the outside of the axle hub. That's smart, but there is lots of slack.

Change the pins on the implement to the inside.
Worked for me.
YM2000 with Boxblade, Phd, 48" Bush hog all Pins inside. Snugs up good. No side to side movement on any of them.
Subsoiler, Can not put pins inside without major mods. That one still sloppy.

You could cut them, and simply bolt right through the links. OR......

You could just buy these. I broke one of mine off last week, just put a new one on today....

looked at this too but puts turnbuckle in bad angle for adjustment and makes it way too short.
