Warren is the Company that makes the TSC Travelers and the Walmart Supertech stuff. I had a long conversation with one of the techs couple weeks ago. He was a really nice guy. He told me that the difference between agco Hydro oil and Travelers is the Agco puts a fragrance in it. (i'm sure it cost more too). He also said they have about 40% of the market in non big name oils. The biggest difference between them and the big names is they don't pay racers and charge the sponsorship cost onto you and I.

So in other words, its all the same, different company propaganda.

What's the VOA mean?
Virgin oil analisis...a small oil sample you send into a lab

it shows the compound make up of an oil, additives, acid neutralizing property's,viscosity at given temps,etc,etc..

The 5w-40 oil will be picked up by the oil pump quicker on startup than the 15w-40 oil. BOTH oils will be more viscous on startup than in operation.

Getting oil to the upper valve train on startup is one of the main reasons why synthetic oil almost eliminates the wear up there but also gives more fuel economy and hp.

I use a 0w30 in all my engines now: 2 diesels, 4 gas.

On engines with horizontal mounted oil filters, that same thin at cold temp 0w, or 5w oil will can leak back through the anti drain back seal of the filter. This can offset some of the perceived advantage of the quicker flow at startup. I know 15w can also do the same but at a slower rate once the engine cools down.

I thought for sure one of the site's oil experts would challange me on my last post. Where's the spunk?
