Looking through all the pictures (at least most of them) I must say I like the old Oshkush the best. Great to watch a Vee Plow working!

And this year this will replace the front loader. Have the subframe mounted and just waiting on the female quick hitch to show up.

Woke up to 12" this morning. Put the blade to work and just hooked the blower up about 30 minutes ago to try it out. Both work excellent. Dad is now out trying the blower.:thumbsup:

Wayne - I swapped a finish mower for a used 2765 front blade/subframe set-up over the summer and I'm anxious to see if my 2710 is heavy enough to move the snow without getting pushed around too much. Your 7500 is about the same size...

I don't think it will be a problem, especially if I can get enough weight in the carryall box, but time will tell. Did you get your blade from a local dealer (it looks so new!) or on the used market? I don't have skid shoes yet and I'm not sure I'll need them since I let the first couple of storms coat the gravel and then pack it down with my truck. Once frozen I have been successful at keeping most of the driveway off the lawn when using a back blade.

Here is a picture from last winter. This is my 2000 Chevy 3500HD dumptruck pulling my John Deere 3720 with the 8ft snow bucket and 6ft angle broom on the back.

I will still have the woods SS-60 on the rear and hope it will supply enough weight (?)! got it from MB Tractor, new. Not cheap, but I had the sub-frame so the wife went along with the expense. I am also out looking for a front mount snowblower but it will have to be from the used market!

Thomas, in four years of using the rear snowblower I have only been stuck (really stuck) twice. Both times I needed help to get out. The first time I got to close to the left side and slipped into a ditch, nearly tipped it over. We had to use come along to keep it from going all the way over. It was a major scare on my part.

The second time was right in the front yard blown a path to the backside of the house. I might have been able to get out using the bucket but didn't dare to tear up the yard so used my neighbors tractor to pull me out.

First time I and totally stuck this year I will be sure to take pictures and send them off to you Thomas! In the blind LOL

After 5 winters of using a walk-behind snowblower on a 700ft driveway, I'm anxious to use my new (used) machinery this winter. 63 inch blower on the front and 6 foot blade on the rear. I presume I'll be using just the blade for smaller snowfalls but I'll have to wait and see. Hopefully we will get a couple of practice snows before the heavy stuff hits.

That is a very nice set up. question, is your lift cylinder for the blower installed as designed? It looks like a DA cylinder. is that correct? why DA?

Can you give me an idea of what that blower rig costs?

I had never considered this. Makes a lot of sense.
My one ton is 4WD so I dont chain up until its icy. Then I have to take them off to go out on the road for a run to the saw mill. On and off with the dual chains gets a little old. Tough on the geezers fingers.

Thats the way the smart dually owners do it around here when its time to push snow.

Back in the late 90's I had a 454 4x4 GMC 3500 with a Boss V plow. It was by far the worst vehicle I have ever driven in the snow. Many front wheel drive cars could do just as good if not better. I now run noting but SRW trucks.

Yes, it's designed to use the up and down controls from the loader valve. That way you can use a little down pressure if you like which may help to break through some packed snow or ice. In theory anyway. I have yet to try it out and I'll probably just use the float more often than not. Also, when stopped, I can lift the front of the tractor off the ground slightly with the downforce. With my tractor, I sometimes need to do this to make it easier to switch from 4wd to 2wd.

It's a Kubota B2782A 63 inch with the B2791 Quickhitch/subframe and the B2792 mid-pto kit. I bought them used - two years old - around $3800.
