Garage entry problem

Ya thats what I want is an ice ramp when trying to get my tractor through a door.
A little salt, sand, cruser dust or a chipper will work wonders :). If you're worried about slippery when wet, slap a coat of paint on it and throw a little sand on it....Mike

My opinion is that since you have "tons" of dirt handy and a tractor build your concrete forms then fill it with dirt. or if funds are that low and you don't want to spend the money on forms just yet just pack it with dirt and place some boards across it so that you don't sink. Then tear it out next year when your ready for concrete.

Crusher run would be the simplest and cheapest. In Ohio Crusher run is called Chips and Dust.

Sorry I quoted the wrong post.

Ok nobody has said this yet so...

I say....just wait and let the snow build up there..and then pank it down....it will be perfect for the winter and will go away on it's own in the spring.

That is how my city street department does pot holes this time of year, they just let the snow fill them in

;)

note the word "pank"....A yooper term for ....pack, flatten, stomp, tamp

too much quality family time for turkey day?

it's not my fault that the family is staying with you longer than you wish they were.

maybe i said that in jest?

people are getting grumpy

and winter just began

those grumpy folk are gonna really be grumpy with 4 more months or more of winter

Another vote for crusher, always a use for it elsewhere down the road.

LOL it's ok guys, no need to be grumpy. I appreciate the suggestions and I think I'm going to try setting up some forms and doing the crusher run. I don't know why I didn't think of using forms and then crushed stone, it makes sense but it escaped me. Should be a relatively inexpensive but effective solution for the time being and one that I can do myself to save a little more money. I'll post pics once I get it done.

Pank...never heard that one before! See, you learn something new every day on here.

I had home made bean soup with no meat and canned pumpkin in it to thicken it. She said it was good for me. Blaaaak!
