Off seat PTO engagement

Kinda new at this but I have a JD 2320 and will be putting a PTO driven sprayer on the back. A lot of the work I will be doing is with a spray gun off the tractor.

When I sit on the tractor, with it running and engage the rear PTO, shift to neutral and set the parking brake is the engine going to stop on me or does it keep running when I get off the tractor.

If it stays running what controls that....setting the parking brake and shifting to neutral?

its a safety lock for the PTO. both need to be engaged in order for the rear PTO to keep running. forget one of them and they engine will cut off.

if you get off the machine in gear with the brake set, it will still cut off. ask me how I know, old habit from the 755 which didn't have the gear safety switch.

I have a 3720 and when I used a chipper off the seat I'd:

1) Start the tractor
2) put in Neutral
3) put the park break on
4) get off the seat
5) then pull the PTO on

You need to be off the seat when you pull the PTO or it will not work. It's been a while since I've done this, but it was in my owner's manual.

The seat presence sensor is normally and when you sit on the seat closes. If it were to remain closed all operations would remain seamless including standing to see in front of loader if this helps

Not sure what you said here so made me curious. The 755 does have mechanical linkage under the seat that will lock the hydro pedals to neutral when you raise up. This is separate from the electrical seat switch. Maybe not what you were referring to but just wondering.

Why would you want to bypass it when there is already a factory procedure to accomplish what you want?

Someone earlier made a subtle hint, but you'll have to figure it out for yourself whether it is worth the risk and effort of doing and how to do it.

I can think of several reasons. Standing up to see the position of the forks is but one of the several. My seat switch is rendered "normally closed". I get on and off too many times and want the engine to stay running to have it any other way.
And yes, if it wasn't such a bother (and that it holds my flashers, work light, and chainsaw holder) I would remove the ROPS too.

From the Owners Manual online:

Using Rear PTO (Operator Off Seat)

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Use rear mounted equipment rated for 540 rpm. Do not operate mid or rear PTO over 540 RPM mark on tachometer. ​

NOTE: The mid-PTO is only operational with the operator on the seat.
Engaging the PTO

1. Sit on operator痴 seat.
2. Lock the park brake.
3. Move the transmission range shift lever to the N (neutral) position.
NOTE: The starter will not crank if the PTO switch knob is in the engaged/on position.
If the operator leaves the seat with the engine running and the mid-PTO engaged, the safety interlock system will stop the engine and all implements.
4. Start the engine.
5. Set engine speed to 1500 rpm or less.

6. Move the PTO selector lever (A) to position (B) for rear PTO only.
7. Pull the PTO switch knob up to the engaged/on position.

The instrument panel PTO engaged light (C) will illuminate when the PTO is engaged.
8. Adjust the engine speed hand throttle forward to the desired speed for the implement used.
NOTE: The PTO marker on the tachometer indicates engine speed for a standard 540 PTO.
Disengaging the PTO

1. Adjust engine rpm to slow idle.
2. Push the PTO switch knob down to the disengaged/off position.
