Kubota MX5100
I am considering purchasing a new tractor or perhaps a slightly used one. I currently have a Kubota B20 and have had it for 10 years and must say it's an awesome little machine. I have looked at the Kubota B26 and was wondering what is Kioti's equivalent? Also is there an equivalent to the Kubota L45 as that is the machine I really want but need to consider $$$ as everyone else does.

Please note this is not a thread to debate Kubota vs Kioti, I can do that on my own time. I'm just looking at all possibilities (I've looked at JD110 TLB as well).

Tks.

Depending where you are in Eastern Ontario it would be worth a trip to see Tom at Kioti, Husqvarna, Toro, PJ Trailers,TimberKing, Service Lakeridge Country Equipment Uxbridge, ON (905) 862-3144

I emailed him at 7:30 one evening and he replied at 8:30 that evening with the info I needed.
Great guy to deal with - used to handle Kubota so he knows the comparisons. No pressure sales with lots of info.

I bought a DK45 SE HST last fall and am quite happy with it.

Good luck on your search.

Bob,

Thanks for the info however it's a little ways from me. I'm closer to Alexandria, ON and there is a local dealer there, I just haven't stopped in to chat with him. Not sure whether he even has a TLB on-site as I really want to look at the machine in person.

Is yours a TLB? I wouldn't mind a 40+ hp machine but I have to consider the overall strength/toughness of the machine. My B20 has helped build two houses, driveways, etc. and it's still going strong. I know Kubota makes their TLB's strong as the backhoe is integrated with the frame. I'm looking for the equivalent in Kioti.

Kyle depending on what you mean by "equivalent" there may not be a match in the Kioti's line up. They make fine tractors in the same hp range but Kubota is the only manufacture of the light commercial TLB's except for the JD 110.

Kioti makes a LK30 TLB, which is a 30 HP TLB with an intergrated backhoe/loader sub-frame mount. It is, however, a gear/shuttle transmission; no hst available. I have the precursor of that machine(LK 3054 TLB) and it's a very robust 5,000 lb. tractor/loader/backhoe

I have a loader but I don't have a backhoe on mine. There are a few fellows on here who do and hopefully they will chime in.

Good luck

I am not sure whether you want a TLB in the 30-40 hp range or you are talking about something that compares with Kubota's BX26. I have made my own comparisons between the smallest TLB from Kioti (22 h.p CK-20) and a Kubota B-25.

I chose the CK-20 because it appeared to be a capable and sturdy tractor for my needs. It is actually not fair to measure those two because the small Kubota is a SCUT (sub compact) while the Kioti is more of a CUT. I felt the KIOTI'S considerable weight advantage of over 1000 lbs was an advantage so far as I was concerned and I was also impressed with the specs for lifting and all the rest of numbers for the backhoe and FEL. The Kubota BX-26 is a great little tractor and I was impressed none the less.

I now have over 700 hours on the CK20 in the three years since delivery and I have removed well over 50 mature tree stumps and it ripped every one without crying Uncle. That CK20 fitted out with a backhoe and FEL weighs in at over 4000 lbs.

Weight is an important part to get certain work done but when limiting the hydraulics to smaller GPM it does decrease speed to make the power needed for moving dead mass. If your work is making money with construction work you might be slowing your self down...

The LK 30 for sure is heavier then a B-26 but it also has a smaller hydraulic system for it's horsepower or more common with normal compact tractors rather then an enhanced system like the industrial duty units like deere and kubota's.

I would have to say your jobs must have changed to not need a hydro for speed and able to live with less hydraulics as a percentage to tractor weight?

There is really no mainstream equvalent to the the B26, which is an
integrated commercial TLB. At about 4000 lb, you can build a similar
weight CUT with the Kioti CK20 and the subframe-mounted 2465 hoe.
Not an integrated TLB of course, but only 60% of the cost. I am
a big fan of the CK20, and I have owned one, as well as a B21.

At the next level up, the JD110 and Kubota L45 TLBs don't have any
competition either, except for the Yanmar CBL40, if you can find one.
These 3 are my fantasy tractors.

Kioti doesn't have anything that's quite as good as the Kubota commercial TLB's. But, in true CUTS with a backhoe, the Kiotis are hard to beat for performance and price. Very heavy and better hydraulics than most other CUTS in this size, and usually priced less too. But, a CK/DK is not a B26, L39, or L45. So, if you need that kind of machine, better open your wallet and stay with the Kubotas.
