Agreed.

I would use the word sadistic in place of the word "rough." I hate thieves more than anybody does, but Ian is using this topic as a means to vent his closet desires to torture people. There's a difference between having a good imagination and having a demented one.

Not to throw cold water on the thread, but in dealing with criminals all my life, everyone wants blood until it is their son, daughter, brother, sister, mom, dad etc behind bars.

I signed off on a report that put one of my relatives in prison on a 15 year sentence; not an easy thing to do.

TripleR,
I understand, I had to testify against my now BIL, he was tried, convicted, & did his 90 days & had to pay for the damage he'd done. Never had any trouble with the law since. Lesson learned. On the other hand, [SOAPBOX MODE ON] I've been robbed twice. 1st time, I caught the guy on Xmas Eve, unwrapping Xmas presents from under my tree to steal presents for his kids. :confused3: When I told him for the 2nd time to lay face down & put his hands on the back of his head, he stood up & said "You gonna make me?" at that point the .44 automag with laser flashed across his eyes & I said "Yup" "Alright man, Be Cool" He was out on bail before I got done with the reports. He got 60 days, less time served and the rest suspended. I got the Xmas presents back in October.:mad:The 2nd time a guy kicked the front door with his size 14's, didn't catch him, he got TV, VCR, Camera setup, & some of the wife's jewelry, total loss ~$3500. A few months later I come home to the PD & a medic unit tending a guy on my front lawn. Seems he blew out his knee when his size 14 impacted my new front door that I'd reinforced with 1/4" plate along with the jamb.:drink::smiley_aafz:  He turned around & sued me for his injuries, claiming that I had created a dangerous condition by reinforcing my door. Cost me $2500 to defend myself. :mur: :thumbdown: This guy didn't have a pot to P1$$ in, nor a window to throw it out of. Did I get any of it back, not just no. BTW he also wore size 14's but couldn't be connected, not enough evidence. I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for criminals, they make the choice, they are responsible for their own actions. [SOAPBOX MODE OFF]

Stopped by the local 'Bota dealer the other day. He said they'd been robbed 3 times in the last few months. RTV's and Mowers. New security system in now and cameras and stuff. Wish they already had that so they could've busted someone already.

T-Man, I am completely lost? Criminals have to be responsible for their actions what? :confused2:... Just kidding... I am responsible for my actions- working for the same company for 22yrs before that working like a dog cutting grass, laying carpet and doing just about any odd job to make a little money. Never been to JAIL-never been arrested- never been fired from a job so YES-I am responsible for my actions..Life is one big choice..

I can fully understand as I have had my car broken into with my 2 way radio stolen, house broken into twice and yes once by breaking in my steel security door. I lost guns, cameras, binoculars, knives etc and would have lost more if my son, who was on leave from Navy contraband interdiction missions, had not come in on them and chased them off with a couple of .45's he was able to get out of the safe. There was a trail of dropped stuff out the door up into the woods, but they still managed to get away with a lot of stuff.

I also had a contract out on me for a couple of years with more than one attempt to fulfill it. One of the perpetrators is doing life without the possibility of parole and the other is dead though not by my hand. I spoke with both of them after they were caught, "Nothing personal man; just business." I had no desire to torture or kill them though came close prior to their apprehension when we were looking for them.

I have no problem with people suffering the consequences of their actions, but do not go along with torture or killing after the fact when no one's life is in danger. I keep a gun on me or within easy reach at all times and will not hesitate to use it, but only to protect my life/safety or the life/safety of others. I spent my carer enforcing the law and cannot justify breaking it nor would I encourage others to do so.

I have to admit though, if it is a pedophile or rapist then all bets are off.

Once again you impress me with your words As bad as our judicial system is擁t is what it is?o without it, we would be way worse off. Yes for stiffer penalties and taking all rights away from those convicted including their life?orture might be them caring out their sentence for the rest of their lives. As I have heard on the TV cowboy movies---- you are welcome at my camp fire anytime..
