CALLING ALL NEW MEMBERS

I owned a tractor for 20 years before I found this forum. (ok, in 1990 there was no forum or web or internet:) )

I've learned a ton from here, and saved myself a lot of money, too:

-Members helped me troubleshoot a problem with old tractor that prevented a service call
- Great input on implements (good and bad feedback) to help me wisely choose and not overspend or buy stuff that wouldn't work
- Great input on Kubota models and differences that led to my decision to trade up to a Grand L.
- Great input on mods like utility lights, 3rd function valves, etc
- Great input on DIY stuff like tire filling, building ballast boxes and grapples, etc.

So all you silent members, speak up! We can't benefit from your unique blend of experience and skills unless we know what they are.

I am a new member here but have been around tractors all my life. I have worked on Allis Chalmers and Oliver more than the others. I normally have at least two Allis Chalmers engines for the B, C or CA in some stage of rebuild in my home shop. I also have Oliver tractors in different stages of rebuild also. I have many pictures at my Public Home | DickL | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy. site of my work that I have open to anyone that cares to look.
I have had to down size my factory and am doing all the mold changes, mold repair which has lowered my time at the computer as well as my home shop. I still check some of the boards while I eat lunch and after feeding the horses in the evening/night.

LD1,
I am new to this also but want to be an active participant. I started a post under new member forum but I was confused at the time ... started by looking for inforamtion right away. Worked out well though as a member sent me two links that brought me right to what I was looking for. this is my first time using forums for discusssions on the web. I think sombody should create an instrucion manual or a how to use forums link.:confused2:

Welcome to TBN and I am glad to see you are posting. I agree there probabally should be some basic instructions, but once you get the hang of it, it is a piece of cake. The hardest part of me is always trying to decide what forum to post in. A lot of them overlap.

For example, if I have some photos to share of a project I am working on to customize my kubota, what forum to post in?? Pictures??? Customization???? Projects????? Kubota owning and operating????

I've also found that somewhat aggravating and takes too much time.

Another thing that may turn people off is a thread - EXAMPLE:-Tree Removal and Firewood Cutting - in which the thread starter went to great length to post 23 quality pictures. I happen to enjoy pictures of what other folks do. So I view a picture on post #1 and when I back browse I get taken to post #15. To look at all 23 photos I have to find the post # I last viewed 23 times. That really isn't much fun.
I've heard all sorts of reasons for this and most said it something I was doing wrong. No one has ever admitted they have the same problem.
