Loader Hyrdraulics locked up. Help

I parked my tractor (B7800) with three point hitch and loader. My wife just called because she was going to take care of the snow that just fell and she can't move the bucket in half of its movements, just two of them.

She checked all the lines and they are all connected up, checked the fluid level and it is up to snuff. I told her to start it up and work the three point hitch up and down and then try the bucket, but not working still.

Can the hydraulic lines freeze? it has been cold here lately, but I did not think that cold!

TPH may be up too high. My 3710 has a movable "stop" to manually set the height limit in the lift. I removed it once and when the lift handle was all the way up, the loader would not function. Dropped the handle a quarter inch and sure enough........... lesson learned. Hope your situation is as easy.

The loader control can get water inside it's spring loaded part that centers it...
That moisture will accumulate over time, when it freezes and becomes solid ice... you can not move the lever...
Generally allowing it to set with the engine running will heat the hydraulic fluid enough that the circulating oil will thaw the ice and everything will be good till it freezes again later...
There are some old posts about this and the fixes... search for frozen loader control... KennyV

you have water frozen around the Gimbal controls and unless you have a salamader you need to let it sit and heat up.

I'm with the two guys above me. Moisture built up in the rear of the valve and frozen. When mine froze..... my hydraulic flow was never able to warm up the valve enough to thaw it. Gotta get it good and warm somehow till you can get the caps off or drill small holes in them to drain the moisture.
