How will it be configured, any changes?

You'll probably like it. I just unloaded a 2,500 lb pallet of salt off my dumptruck yesterday and it struggled. I guess with the pallet forks, that was probably more like a 2,800 lb load. Course I could always use the LB115 if the load gets real heavy.

Starts great in low winter temps. I did some salt spreading last night and she fired right up on glow plugs and it was only 19*.

Great news. We tried to buy local but decided to use Barlows - we're glad we did. Good luck with your new toy. Definitely post pictures as soon as it arrives.

Picked it up today... what a difference going from a L3600 to the M7040! The thing is sweet! I will not sleep tonight, it's pouring rain and I only got to use it for a couple hours till I was about froze, I feel like a little kid on Christmas eve:D
Will post pics and specs when I get a chance

Know the feeling well. I came from a L3650.

The thing that is amazing is that the giddy feeling has lasted over a year now.

Climbing on it and putting it to work is a joy every job, every time. I look for jobs to do and sometimes even do them twice for entertainment.

Don't care a bit about the price of diesel. It is cheaper than going to a movie.

I know the feeling, we have had our M8540 for several months and I hopped into it and looked for something to do; turned out to be too damp, so I drove around our farm a while.

You have to admit, it sure is nice that our entertainment gets our work done too.  Now what I need to do is figure out how to make a living doing this. ;)

Ah, but there's the rub. If you HAVE to do it there is a chance that the joy will slowly diminish until it is a dreaded chore. Having the choice to do it makes it seem like play.

Naaa.... I've been using my tractor to put food on the table for 10 years, and before that my grandfather for 20... It does not take the joy out of it :D Only when things go wrong, like when the old tractor would break, then I hated the thing with a passion:mad:

So did it get set up how you wanted it? You know, all the remotes, Top and Tilt hydraulics. So what tires are on front and back, and how long before you get the ones that you ordered?

Set up is perfect besides the tires, I've got Ag's on all 4 and they said they'd probably have the R4's in next week. All in all I'm stoked on the tractor! I just have to get a grapple bucket and a box blade and I'll be set. I've got a Tortella mower for it already, which I'm excited to use.

That is good to hear, I was afraid that you were going to be in trouble with the tire situation.

Haha, I know it's not the 7040, I got that thing and changed my mind before I used it. Grateful I have a awsome dealer.
Just got the track loader today. Was having way too much fun with it and got it stuck for a few hours:D Just stopped raining, things are really muddy.

The only thing is that my dump truck looks so good it makes the track loader look bad:laughing:

I love Kubota! Sweet equipment!

I have been looking into the M7040 for a few weeks now, it seems like the best tractor for my work. I do a lot of weedabatement, debris and tree removal stuff, and I also do dirt work here and there.

I have a L3600 right now that I will sell and put towards the new one. The problems I have had with the L3600 I'll list, things I want to avoid with the new one.
Overheating due to rapid clogging of the radiator while mowing (constantly blowing it off with a leaf blower, and washing it on a daily basis.)
Damage from debris coming from below to radiator, fan, oil filter, etc. Any kind of Armor availible?
Damage to the body of the engine compartment on sides and top. Armor question again?
Front tires going flat while carrying heavy bucket loads on slopes.

So advice on what to do on the M7040 that might make those problems go away?

This is the set up I'm thinking about, advice on some gizmo/attachment I'm forgetting, anything you got :)

M7040HD-1

Optional Valves - 3 remote valves
Downexhaust Pipe w/ spark arrester
Grill Guard
Loader
4 in 1 Loader Bucket
Third Function Control Valve
Single Lever Value Hose Quick Coupler
Backhoe Type - 11' Digging Depth w/ aux
Backhoe Bucket
Backhoe Stabilizer Cylinder Cover
Backhoe Quick Coupler
Rubber Stabilizer Flip Pad
Backhoe Thumb
Tortella flail mower
JD Grapple Bucket

Any recomendations on a good gannon with rippers for this setup?

Also, I'd like to get the quick attach set up in this video
YouTube - Kubota M7040
instead of the 3 point quick attach set up. I can't find those anywhere, anyone used them, like them? The video is in german, but you can see what I'm talking about.

I know that's a lot, but thanks in advance :D

Take a look at this type of quick hitch 3 point hitch | 3 point quick hitch | 3 point tractor hitch | The Deltahook

That's the set up I was going to get. A little expensive, but real nice... however I ended up getting a Kubota SVL track loader, so no 3 point stuff anymore.

What convinced you to go with a track loader in lieu of a tractor? Just curious.

Besides the expense, the problem with that QH is that it will only work with a clevis-style lower attachment set up on the implement. The clevis-style seems easier to hook up than the pin-style for me in a non-QH (normal) application.

Lift pins, which are commonly used, could not be hooked to it. Too much putting the frame on the tractor and taking it off in my opinion.

It would also require a separate frame for each implement otherwise it would take almost as much time to switch the frame from implement to implement than it would to just hook it up normally.
