Sending Holiday Packages Priority via the US Postal Service

Come on now, this is our wonderful govenment in action....

.....surely they can't make two mistakes with the same package???

Ya.. but you live and work in God's county and I live in work... well... in the SF Bay Area...

With all the air delays... it's a wonder anything is getting out. Lots of rain delays in the Bay Area and Europe is taking a Shellacking snow wise...

Maybe I have been lucky because I ship about 50 packages a year by USPS Priority Mail and have never had a problem. But, they have all been sent to the US and none to Austria.

So far all of my $11 and change domestic Priority Packages have arrived in a timely manner... no complaints on that front.

Ironically, the Postal Service sent me a detailed business questionnaire mid November asking about service issues... I would certainly answer differently now...

No mention of any refund or possible a discount or even a coupon for future use.Even Wal Mart gives those.I was hesitant in sending a small package across the country this year but tried it and it arrived in good condition.I dont understand why they dont 'start' the inquiry themselves.

Update...

Hey... 22 days underway and my package landed in Austria!!!

Maybe it will be delivered by Christmas if the weather doesn't get in the way?

Good thing you mailed em so early!

I've always had good luck with USPS, typically cheaper than FEDEX or UPS....recently I had to mail some paperwork to Africa.....$70+ for a letter via DHL.....ouch.

Glad to hear it got there. I myself found out yesterday Ill be getting a package from the UK its well overdue now.LOL But im not sure if or where all the blame can be placed .
I wonder what percent of packages really dont make a delivery time close to the ''estimate". Unless we had a clue here we have no way of knowing if your shipment was a very small percent of the total packages that get moved.
Maybe it was your 'luck' that yours was the delayed one.Im thinking there might be statistics here but we the public.(shareholders) would have access to this, and thus not be able to accept it as not the" norm."
Lesson here is to not use their estimates and add a few days to a week onto it and be on the safe time.
Glad it might make it for Christmas ..
