all depends on where my truck decides to throw a tire, what options I have to pull over.. ie.. embankment, unpaved shoulder, paved shoulder.. etc.. that makes the difference where I place my jack so it's safe for me to be working near it.
Mind you.. on the rears it ain't so bad.. unless you loose an inside rear and have to pull both.. if just an outside rear.. safety factor goes way up.
front / rear makes a big difference too as to what the jack goes under, in accordance with the above statement...
