ok-newbie question on rear remotes. In this ETA pic this L3240 has 2 rear remotes- my pic with arrow. I would think that is what these are..Questions are...

1. what are these rermotes used for
2. what rear implements need remotes
3. does a hydraulic top link work off one of these remotes?
4. basically what are they a must have for??

They can be used for snowblower hydraulic chutes, hydraulic top links, hay baling equipment... and the list goes on and on.

Actually that is ONE remote, not 2. They come in pairs - One for each side of a double-acting cylinder

1 - Any thing you want ; links, implements, ect...
3 - Yes

So that is one in the pic not 2 remotes.. Can a log spliter be run off one like that? I would guess that there is some type of control lever like a FEL loader has? is that mounted somewhere close to the FEL control lever?

Yep, that is one single remote. Yes, there is a lever for it. It is usually right beside the 3pt. up/down lever.

The remotes in the pic will operate 1 double acting cylinder. Power to extend and power to retract.
You could operate a top link cylinder.
You could operate a side link cylinder.
Hook the hoses to a front grapple.
A chute rotator on a snow blower.
Log splitter? Depends

I added a single remote on my Brother's L3240. I've attached a couple pics but don't have one showing the lever with the tractor assembled. The remote lever is just behind your 3pt lift lever. There are slots in the fender assembly to add three remote levers. The hydraulic connectors at the rear of the tractor are stacked together as you add more remotes.

My Brother got his kit from the dealer he bought the tractor from, supposedly at the dealer's cost, $450. It took me about an hour to install. Had to remove the seat platform and take two bolts out of the ROP assembly. Then remove the small plate on top of the hydraulic pump unit and install the kit. Pretty simple.

Kubota is always expensive when adding their factory kits. But to get an "out of the way" setup this is pretty slick. I'm guessing he can probably add an additional remote for $300 since he wouldn't have to buy the hydraulic adapter plate, lever stand and remote connector stand again.
