RTV900 Purchase

I hate it when dealers get bent out of shape when you seek to order something because the model(s) they have have been sitting outside and show some showing small signs of rust spots and inperfections. They want you to take what they have...

But - to my total surprise - my wife had called the local dealer that I do business with and the day before Christmas she bought me a 2010 Camo with spray-in bedliner, black plastic top, turf tires (don't know if I will have to change those), rear worklight, and headrests for less money.

Congratulations. It sounds to me like your wife is a gem -- she bought you the RTV and she got a great price on it as well.

Are you referring to the "worksite tires"? I have that type on my RTV 900 and have not had any traction problems to date. Of course, I don't get much snow and I'm too old to go mud-bogging.

Congratulations!!!! You'll love it and looks like you've got a nice thoughtful, considerate, caring and loving wife.
My RTV1140 has worksite tires and don't even stutter in the snow. I won't be doing mud bogging or even drive it on level mud for that matter.

Yes, I'm thinking about changing to worksite tires from these Carlisle turf tires (25x12x12 both front and rear). I will use the turf tires around the yard but think I may need worksite tires for other stuff like snow and woods. I have turf tires on my 3240 and they are excellent in the snow. We'll see.

My wife? She's a keeper.

I had turfs on my BX2660 MMM FEL and used it last winter for the first time to clear roads and drive with ice and snow. Went great. I wouldn't do any changing until I tried it with the turfs.

We had 20" of snow the other day and the turf tires on the RTV were useless. (I have the turf tires on an HSTC 3240 and they are excellent plowing snow. Have a 9' Fisher plow, skid steer attached, and never need chains.) Don't know if I will buy the worksite tires and rims or go to the ITP mud light tires that I used on a Honda Foreman. They worked very well on the Honda. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd go with ATV tires..They've worked well on my previous 500 and the current 1100. They are the cheaper than the other types if memory serves.

Yes atv type on mine,so far no problem.plowed 6" of snow no problem,been threw some deep drifts with no problem but I would think 20" of snow might be a lot to ask if unplowed.

Hit 3ft last year with a much lighter RTV500 and it did better than I expected...I would think the heavier diesels would do much better. Only got to plow 4" at a time this year. no issues at all.
