The Internet and websites have changes the way we gather information. People used to get so much of their information from printed media. Now they can hop on the Internet and get MUCH more information instantly.

I get Grit and a few other similar magazines. Their content leaves much to be desired sometimes. Grit just had a story about subcompact tractors. Pretty skimpy it was.

Anyone know where I could get MORE information about a large variety of subcompact tractors, NOW? :laughing::laughing: Why yes, yes I do!

Websites like TBN are really changing the way people get information. Instead of a one way conversation one gets reading a story in a magazine now we have multiple people talking on a subject. If you say something that is bovine scat someone is going to point it out. :thumbsup: Reading the magazine one can only "talk" to the pages which does not get you very far.

What makes TBN great is that people here are level headed for the most part. :laughing: On some other sites I visit the people can go off the wall very quickly. What is fun is that on those sites you know what will happen when Topic A, B, or C pops up. You know the thread will spin completely out of control. What is even funnier is that it is NOT about politics!

I do have to disagree with a certain poster. EVERYONE know that JD tractors are best and that gear tractors beat HST's any day of the week!

I disagree with you in part, yes JD tractors are the BEST, BUT hydro beats gear any day of the week !!!!

One thing for sure, the personalities here are as different as the colors of our tractors! Like others have said, this is a site to learn as well as share. It doesn't take long to figure who's here to do something else.

Hope I don't ruffle anyone's feathers... just an observation. As with any large group, TBN members display a large variety of personalities. It is just really interesting to me... some are the types that make you say to yourself "now that is one really nice guy/gal... the type of person you would like for a life long friend"... others make you say "wow, what a knowledgeable person... always giving great, educated advice". Then there is the one that only makes me chuckle... "the opinionated know-it-all"... they might be new posters, or they might have post counts in the thousands, but they always have an answer for every question... if the majority of responses say it is white, they say it is black... if evidence is provided for a position, it doesn't matter, they know better. As I said earlier, just an observation, but does this last type make you chuckle like it does me? Just curious.....

Then when I finally get my 16" pizza and 64 oz drink balanced over the keyboard a person comes along with what I think is an over-critical assessment of someone; or some persons posting and it makes the hair feathers stand up on the back of my neck, lol. (just kidding)

Edit: It was funnier in my head, lol.

I have not made it to any of the TBN get togethers.

I always wonder what everyone is like away from the computer. Ie, All of us type different than we talk, and there is no personal inflection on a keyboard. By that, I mean the subtle nuances of voice, facial expression ect. .....

I for one have a dry-sense of humor and have on more than one occasion met someone who I previously only knew thru email, who told me they were relieved that I was not arrogant or dogmatic as they perceived me to be in the absence of facial expressions, expressions that clearly told them otherwise.

I hope I learned from that and adjusted accordingly. It would be quite humiliating to be a member of some ignore list. However, I like to think most TBNrs' are of substantial character to point something out what may be questionable in an effort to give someone a chance to clarify theirself. I doubt that I'm wrong on that!
