About seven months ago my brother came up to PA to visit,(he lives in Mississippi). While here he bought a 80's International 244. It ran very well when he was here, but line coming off the injector pump was leaking, looked to be a o-ring. He took it home and fixed the leak, but every since it has been running very rough if he can get it to run at all. I suggested bleeding the system. He said he tried cracking the lines at the injectors, but it didn't help. He also said he tried a "bleed screw" on the injector pump, but no luck. So this is why I asking if anyone out there has any dealings with this model tractor and has any suggestions. By the way, it has a Mitsubushi engine in it.

My guess is it still has air in it. Takes quite awhile to bleed air out. Also, there are some hidden filters in some fuel lines. I would start all over by removing the fuel line from the injector pump and verify he has good flow. If he does go though the bleeding process. Tell him to remove all filters and fill them with clean fuel and preferably replace with new fresh filters. Then look for a bleeder screw on the filter housings. Some tractors have hand primer pumps on the injector pump itself to aid in the bleeding. Last resort crack the injectors as you told him to do.

The info I have provided is general. I have no familiarity with that tractor so take it for what its worth.

I agree that it sounds like it is still getting air in the fuel line. I would have him go back to the last thing he fixed and start looking there. I changed a fuel filter and my tractor started running terrible. Traced it down to a leaking fuel bowl O-ring that letting air into the fuel mix. Maybe he installed the wrong size O-ring??

My first thought was also that he still has an air in fuel problem. Since the leak he fixed was caused by an O-ring, that means it was on the suction side of the pump. If he doesn't have a good fit on the O-ring or it's not the right size, he could be sucking air there.

TraderMark has my vote because you stated that the injector lines were bleed, so by the process of elimanation the O ring line is either suction or return. Fix that again then worry about the air. But once it runs that means it is pushing fuel through and very quickly the air will be purged.

G'day can you show us a pic of where he fixed the leak is it possible that something may have not been put back together properly? If it is running then
they will usually bleed the air out themselves. Not trying to be smart just throwing up an idea

I called him yesterday, he was at work. I directed his wife to the site so he could read the suggestions when he got home. Still didn't talk to him yet. I am also trying to get him on the site, he is a little computer hard-headed.

Might try calling Bill at Valley Power . He has a toll free number and can help you with this particular engine.
