So many great "weapons" and no snow to fight.
Have we built up the army so much we've scared off the enemy? Hope not. :D

Currently pouring down snow here.

I have seriously snagged the blade both pushing and pulling with my old massey. I have rewelded the 3pth frame twice and this year added a new blade. The lower links are very strong but I can see a lighter tractor having a problem. I believe Scraper blades are made for slow work. Snow blades have shoes and trip mechanisms and are made to be used with some speed. I attached some shoes to my new blade but still have to be careful to not go too fast.

The big issue is where the force is exerted. When pulling forward the top link is pushing on the rear diff housing. When pushing in reverse its pulling. I have seen a few pull the top link mount right off the diff axle causing substantial damage. I have also seen many lower arms bent but that is minor compared to ripping out a tip link mount.

Not a single flake here in Central Maine. I knew burning all that waste oil and old tires in the yard would pay off!

So far this year we have had a little over 2'. Most at one time was maybe 8". We currently have only 3" but its blowing 25 and 8 deg so I will leave it alone.

I made it about 10 minutes with the Honda walk behind and broke another shear pin. Those things really don't like gravel. If there was a sign of some work comming in I'd go buy the 7' rear blade at TSC. (after watching wvpolcat's video) Just going to muddle thru with the box blade and my home made pusher I guess.

It's funny you mention that. I have a friend who works as a foreman on a large construction company and they do condominium complex snow removal-BIG TIME stuff. They have 1 Honda tracked snowblower, like 32" wide. He said "it went through a shear pin an hour" I think was how he described it. Said he finally gave up and brought a different brand of bolt.
